Default Factions Championship Playoff Breakdown

I've just completed my first of many articles that will be covering the competitive Guild Wars community. This first entry breaks down the first round of matches from the second season of the Factions Championship.

Head on over to http://www.ampedesports.com/news/2343 to check it out.

A quick snippet:
"The words "massive upset" come to mind, but maybe that's too simplistic. Perhaps "complete bracket destruction" better fits the situation that now presents itself following the first round of playoffs for Season 2 of the Factions Championships. Heading into the eight matches today, the biggest question posed was how teams would utilize the new skills added midway through this season - but by the end of the day, much larger questions loom."

Yes. Who would have thought that the only talent in GW lie in a few guilds? Who would have thought EvIL aren't the be all and end all of Guild Wars and are just normal players, albeit very good players. Props to the underdogs for doing so well, all of them. It definitely makes the ladder more interesting.

Nicely written article.

It was very disappointing to see all these 'top' guilds using old ass builds. While that, I am so glad that we can see some real talent wining, not just some guilds who only learn others' tricks.

Everyone can get somewhere, just a matter of how fast. In this bracket, we see the fast ones.

Still love WM.

I think the upsets are partly due to character and team builds, but probably more due to the staying power of the people playing.

You should interview all the losers and ask: Did you play up to your old standards? Were you simply beaten by the better-performing team?
